CUPPING
Cupping is used in Chinese medicine as a way of breaking blockages in the body to restore a natural energy flow. It is most commonly used to treat pain conditions because of it's ability to release and relax muscle tension. It is also very effective to help with respiratory conditions such as allergies, chronic cough and bronchitis.
During cupping, small jars made of glass or plastic are gently suctioned onto the back to create a vacuum effect which stimulates and increases circulation. It is a painless procedure that has effects of relaxation and stress relief in addition to resolving the patient's main complaint. More often than not, bruising will result but this is not painful and resolves within a few days.
